On May 27th, 2024, at approximately 10:04 PMEdna Police Department responded to an open 9-1-1 line/ disturbance at a local residence.
Upon arrival, Officers attempted to receive information from a male subject believed to be the offender. The male subject failed to cooperate leading Officers to detain him. Due to the nature of the call, Officers attempted to search for the female caller within the residence.
During the search, Officers observed narcotics and drug paraphernalia within plain view which led Officers to believe those involved may have been in possession and/or trafficking narcotics.
Lt. Bermea was contacted at which time a search warrant was prepared and obtained to search the residence for any illegal contraband within the household.
During the execution of the search warrant officers located several ounces of cocaine, marijuana, and U.S. currency.
The male subject was arrested and charged with Man/Del Controlled Substance PG1 >=4G<200G, Abandoning/Endangering Child, Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transportation, and Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance.
The female subject was arrested and charged with Man/Del Controlled Substance PG1 >=4G<200G, Abandoning/Endangering Child and Interference with Public Duties.
