Councilperson Wayne Callis was born and raised in Edna. Callis graduated from George Washington High School in 1965. After graduation, he attended Wharton County Junior College and served two years in the Army as a Military Policeman. He has been married to Johnell Tones Callis for 48 years. They have two children and two grandchildren. Wayne is retired from Enterprise Products after 43 years of service. He enjoys singing with his gospel group known as The Washington Street Boys.
