Governor's Division of Emergency Management (GDEM)
Governor's Division Of Emergency Management (GDEM) is charged with carrying out a comprehensive all-hazard emergency management program for the State and for assisting cities, counties, and state agencies in planning and implementing their emergency management programs.
GDEM is also responsible for supporting development of the Governor's Homeland Security Strategy and implementing programs and projects to achieve state homeland security goals and objectives. The Division serves as the State Administrative Agency (SAA) for US Department of Homeland Security homeland security grant programs.
Texas Online Emergency Portal
The Texas Online Emergency Portal website is provided by the State of Texas and is an excellent source of information for citizens planning for an emergency or experiencing an emergency. The website deals primarily with large scale emergencies; but, does include links to other resources for personal and group emergencies.
